Can we dream about an SG-12 Railboard? The shorter scale will help with the extra weight of aluminum board a lot.
(Oh, and if one can dream, let's make it headless for even more travel-friendliness).

Oh my Gosh!!! :-)

What about a vocal processor, like the TC Helicon units. They have phantom power and XLR inputs, though I don't know how they would sound, nor if they would do a good job processing polyphonic signals. I have a VocaLive#2 here that I love for flute and cello. But for Stick I'm not so keen on it bec...

Good post! Yes, it is essential to tune by ear and matching whatever you intend to play as well as the string tension and string height intonation. I've learned this by praxis as a studio musician. Listen and tune *in place*.

I'm very happy with my bamboo 12 Grand! This hybrid wood ages with musicality, sounding better for every year. And it's not too heavy. Almost the same weight as my Wenge SG12. If I can ever afford it I would love a 12-str RailBoard though. And I would really like it with a 32" scale rather than...

Nice melody side tone, just the right amount of distortion IMHO, and nice playing and general vibe. For some reason it makes the back of my brain recapture the Yes' Tales from Topographic Oceans. But Howe used a Telecaster with volume pedal - I assume - so maybe it's just that Dorian scale climbing ...

I use a Strymon Big Sky reverb pedal for summing of my two analog signal chains. Important is to activate the Strymon's "amp sim" algorithm. This is a true stereo effect so the direct signal of the melody and the direct signal of the bass side go hard panned, so if you plan to spread a wid...

Where I live, I'm playing out in the public streets and home concerts at institutions where people might behave in an utterly noisy way, so I have grown used to adjust pitch while playing. In the morning, when I leave, I tune up with my 440 Hz fork and it rarely happens to me that more than one stri...

I prefer the active sound but the passive feel. Kind of my taste as well! :-) I try to achieve such a tone by playing the PASV4 neck PUPs with filters set to the thinnest sound. Even by Jaap´s excellent mp3 round-trip I'm finding my ears mostly drawn to the PAV4 neck, but as said, I'l like it a lit...

wenge on wenge, stained ebony-black. Good choice! I too would like one of those :-) Will make a beautiful and gorgeous sounding NS. And I wish Chrispfingers a not too depressing waiting time. Myself, I faced nine months on my first Stick (12-str Grand) and changed my preferences, regarding color of...
