I messed with this App using a VG Strat. Just a 1/4" cable plugged in to my Focusrite Scarlett PC interface, USB out direct to the iPAD. The Midi Guitar 2 App runs on the iPAD and allows the guitar to trigger any Synth App on the iPAD with no special pickup or cables. Plus there is a PC versio...

So I watched the video. And then I tried grooving with the metronome on beats 2 and 4. It's hard. But it kind of clicks after a bit, and it wasn't that difficult unless I started thinking about it, like when you're jogging up a flight of stairs and you suddenly try to actually notice where each foo...

It was interesting, I dug out my railboard and tried to play through this tune. It was doable, but very, very weird. I am so accustomed to my 12 string that it was downright alien to play! I tried matched reciprocal tuning, but you know mirrored 4ths keeps things on the bass side a lot closer togeth...

:D I think that sometimes a lot of jazzers will severely over-complicate the music they play for one reason or another. I know that I have been guilty on occasion of overplaying. It doesn't appeal to everybody to listen to that kind of overplay/overarrange. Y'know, I think that the toughest things f...

And don't forget about the 2017 Online Stickist Collaboration. If you play even just a little bit, you should get in on it (it will be fun!)

Some fun facts about this one; 1) I used octaves for the chorus. I think that it really helps add some power to a section that one wants to sound and feel 'distinct' from the rest of the tune. 2) I played "hands uncrossed" for the verse section. It felt really weird, and isn't a way I norm...

I received two more submissions today, they sound great! I just wanted to say that it doesn't JUST have to be Stick, or tapping. Anything. If you have some nifty ideas on another instrument, that's cool! Record it down and send it to me and it will get fit into this. So far, it's sounding extremely ...

Hey Scott I’m loving your form of forum torture. Keep it up. I’m hoping to start posting but darn I’m too busy with other projects at the moment. I for one love this tune and as a trumpet player love the jazz side if things. Lots of awesome chords here. Maybe way too many which I m guessing might b...

Very cool! Sounds awesome!

You know, I have a Midi pickup on both of my sticks, and a Roland GR55 and a VG99 and I almost never use 'em. They are there if I want to use them, but I just like stick and guitar sounds. haha I guess if I didn't have them, I'd want them (midi pickup)
