Awesome advice Greg, just a slight raising of the nut and we're in Metallicaville. Thanks, guys! Cheers, Scott, The Kudos go to Emmett for designing an instrument that can be so easily and effectively adjusted. If you think about it, a 36" scale Stick with a nicely playable X fret has almost 4...

Don't put anything heavier than light strings on this instrument.

It is the same in pretty much every tuning, just curious if there's a setup idea I have...

Hi, A Stick playing friend/student here in South Australia is looking for a Stickup. He owns an AC-2 equipped Stick, but the cost of shipping back and forth to the US for retrofit is prohibitively high, plus the instrument is Rosewood, which I've heard requires special certification these days (mor...

Here's a cool chart that shows the five Melody strings with Standard tuning. Just a point of clarification, there are many "standard" tunings for The Stick, including Matched Reciprocal, Baritone Melody, even Mirrored 4ths. SE doesn't favor one over the other by calling it the "stand...

Looks like it might be more hassle than its worth to mod my strat for this... Welcome to the forum, I was teaching a guitar player at the University of Virginia before they got a Stick in the department for students to use. All he had to do was tune his guitar down a little to get some slack int he...

Got home after a 15-hour drive Monk-Time ("Round Midnight"). Such a great event. Many thanks to Glenn for putting it all together again do deftly, and to the support crew at Interlochen, for attending to our every need. For the first time, I offered classes in approaches to playing written...

Sounds great, Rodrigo! Very "bright" and lively, and I really like your ornamentation in your approach. I've been playing this piece without any ornamentation, focusing on using the dynamics The Stick allows instead. Maybe I'll record it one of these days... There's a really interesting ar...
