I am horrible at titling my works, I can never think of a name for my instrumental works so I usually just look around the house, and this time as luck would have it we have a new frying pan... :D Titling instrumentals can really suck! Some of my titles happened very organically and I was happy wit...

Finished! For sure!

There's a Crimson tune called "Into the Frying Pan".

Thought this might be a cover :-)

Yeah I love the Arturia stuff. I had the V Collection version 2 which didn't have near the instruments version 6 has. It's funny too. I love old synths and I was literally a heartbeat away from pulling the trigger on the purchase of re-issue Minimoog Model D. I was really having a hard time justifyi...

Thanks guys! That's 100% Valhalla Shimmer. I was in a guitar workshop a few years back and Billy McLaughlin talked a lot about "playing your reverb". In other words, paying attention to it and letting it sing. Given the option, I would always prefer my acoustic piano over software but it s...

Good things happen when you're playing with new stuff :D No Stick in this one but I'd just picked up the new Arturia V Collection 6 and was playing with their piano which is new to me. Very nice sound and when I ran it through my Valhalla reverbs, it was like heaven so I just played it for hours. Ne...

I've always been a Crimson fan but not a die-hard fan. Sometimes they lose me and I don't find them infallible by any stretch. I always thought Fripp was a fairly brilliant technician. As far as his music itself, sometimes I really connect and other times I don't. For this particular performance, it...

Yeah ... I read the story and am speechless. Very glad you came out of that in one piece. You kept a cool head man!

Honestly I'm not sure tunings make a huge difference (not counting bass oriented tunings of course). I play 12-string Classic. I briefly toyed with Matched Reciprocal quite a while back but just never warmed up to it. I think it's all what you're used to though so if you're just starting out, the re...

Just to follow up ... I grabbed an old Boss expression pedal and ran it through the calibration process. While perusing the manual page on how to do that, I noted a section where they specifically say that a standard passive volume pedal will NOT work.

So there's that :-)

I have, in fact, NOT done the calibration so I'll give that a whirl later today. Historically most hardware that expects expression pedal input will work with a standard passive volume pedal using an insert cable. The Rocktron guys actually recommend it and their units generally work better with a v...
