One of my favorite career moments was spending the whole day at Pat's home in Philadelphia, playing music together for about 6 hours, conversing, eating and I even gave him a brief Stick lesson. Great musician, intelligent, inquisitive, creative and a real gentleman.

For what it's worth, I always preferred Rods. You'll find that sliding over the frets is a lot smoother that the feel of rails. Most of my Sticks have rods.

There are no rules. I demonstrated it diatonically. One key to stay within a parameter. If you wish to add accidentals and modulate to other keys, go for it.
