One of my favorite career moments was spending the whole day at Pat's home in Philadelphia, playing music together for about 6 hours, conversing, eating and I even gave him a brief Stick lesson. Great musician, intelligent, inquisitive, creative and a real gentleman. Steve A |

For what it's worth, I always preferred Rods. You'll find that sliding over the frets is a lot smoother that the feel of rails. Most of my Sticks have rods.

It's designed to be a visual exercise to learn note placement on the fingerboard better and see the inversion shapes of triads. It's an import... |

Appreciate the question. It remains F natural to remain in the key. The triad will Indeed become B diminished. That is the 7th degree chord in C. I try to stay consistent within the key. In my example, I started with the ii chord, Dmi The morph will progress: Dm FMaj Am CMaj Em GMaj Bdim Dm (differe... |

A little exercise I teach my students to help learn the fingerboard and chord inversions. Each triad is succeeded by the next by lowering only the root, one letter producing the next triad. D F A F A C A C E C E G E G B G B D B D F D F A etc. Doing this on the fretboard will take you through all the... |
