It's the same thing just depends on where the resolution might be heard.

| Something I taught/demonstrated this past weekend at the NY Stick Seminar was that many songs are based simply on ii V. That would be Dm G(7) (in C). Not necessarily resolved to the One chord. I was the editor for Chris's Sticktionary book. It is quite comprehensive. There seems to be another book called "Stickology....." that addresses bass harmonic possibilities.
