Hi Peeps. What do you folk think of the benefits of EMG vrs Pasv 4 as applied to a DBR 10 string grand. I remember Greg's "Rain Dodgers' vid was PASV 4, and I'm not normally a fan of the EMG sound. The only real virtue I can hear in the EMG is that it has a pretty solid bass response and might ...

Hey Scotty. I definitely have trouble remembering where the hell I am with note choices, over the repertoire that I currently have. I think you really hit the nail on the head when you were talking about just knowing the notes. I've been really checking myself out against my recollection of the key ...

"Born to be mild". Gold from Tipton.

Thanks for the inspiration DT, it's timely advice for me as I'm getting back into some solo gigs and need to rip some more songs without killing myself or cutting back on sleep..

Hi Gents. Markuzz , I'm definitely a fan of the meaty sound of heavy strings. 12 is appealing but the closer string spacing has always been a concern for me. Still, I bet it will be amazing when it comes out. lminor7, hey mart. Going from7 up to 8-9 string is definitely a step "up" in timb...

I'm also considering dropping down to medium gauge, with a new Railboard, but I really feel that I'll be missing out on that articulation from string 8 -9 esp, (ten string). I just love that high bass response in that gauge. ...

It really is gorgeous isn't it.

Can I ask what gauge strings you have on it, given the high res pic from the side, it might help me to discern what diff gauges will be like. I've been heavy since 2007. I'm thinking of getting my second stick next year and a gold railboard at that.
