Karma, what pickup do you have on that Stick? I started with light strings on my PASV-4 12 string grand and recently tried out a set of medium strings. I like the medium better because they give a more consistent tone all over the entire fret board. With the light strings some frets close to the nut...

I must say that I totally understand your decision! If an instrument doesn't immediately talk to you it doesn't talk to you . I had that experience myself with the alto sax, just hated it. So I sold it and picked up a tenor and found that one to resonate with me from the first second I touched it! F...

Started with electric guitar as a teenager. Added tenor sax a decade later. Added Alto Flute (because it is so good for electronic processing and small to travel with) another decade later as well as fretless guitar. In 2006 I got a chance to also add an EWI 4000s as I passed by San José Guitar Cent...

Big Bang is really inspiring! Great to be able to watch the entire performance. To me this captures a lot of what is exciting with the Stick when comparing it to other instruments, like for example the Eigenharp http://bit.ly/9w73ci. Comparing these videos it becomes obvious that the Stick admits a ...

Thanks, Wildest. "Moctezuma meets Astroboy" sounds fun to me! Yep, cancer is gone now. I was lucky to notice something was wrong and a new born tumor in the lower intestines could be cut out right on the spot by a surgeon. And that's it. Very fast fix, but long and boring time to heal the ...

I have only had my 12 string Grand Stick since January but I got it just in time for being able to play it on at least one piece on this album! Then I had a major surgery to dig out some cancer and had to put the Stick aside for two months, until now when I am healed again. So the Stick song here is...

Exciting pieces, Zebra! I personally think it can often be hard to stay away from playing too much melody and tonal stuff, and performing with a looper helps you to keep up that minimal attitude! BTW, a cool thing I tried the other day was to put a looper on the bass side output to "freeze"...

I ordered light gauge strings. Being a Bass player, maybe should have gone with med's.. Any thoughts. I got my first 12 str grand half a year ago and started out with light strings. Just recently I changed for medium and I must say I like medium better. They allow more dynamics in your playing and ...

What do you guys have for Sticks and what are you using for equipment? See signature. I plug it through a laptop out into the PA. The system of software I have put together gives me the sound I have been dreaming of. Received my first Stick in January at age 54 and my experience is that the older y...
