Long story stretched out over many years. My first memory of the Stick was watching an interview with Christopher Cross on TV after his success with the soundtrack to "Arthur". I recall seeing an instrument with strings and no body which struck my curiosity around 1981 when that movie was ...

This vid gave me one of those "Ah-ha" moments. When letting a guitar player try my Stick for the first time (as our common friend Rob just did two weeks ago in front of a live audience :) ) I had always assumed their difficulty had to do with using the right hand in an unfamiliar role on a...

BTW, I used wood screws for my ACTV2/PASV/4 switch. I don't have a drill-press so I was reluctant to do exacting drilling on my bamboo (soft "wood") for the machine screws that Emmett used. So I did your standard wood screw pilot holes, and tighten them "just-so". I don't switch...

I would check with Jeff Mack, there may be more to it than is apparent. I am looking at two 12 strings that I have, one with a Stickup and one with PASV4, and there are other differences besides the screws. The angle of the two pickups is slightly different, and the Stickup is thinner. I don't know...

Not losing any sleep on this but since I have one of these a year younger than the one on Reverb I feel obliged to respond, but has taken me a few days of thought. About six years ago I sold a 27 year old Zon bass on Reverb. Beforehand I had that bass and a PRS Custom24 professionally appraised and ...

If the odd exposed core string is the lowest bass string, that’s likely normal for that set. I’ve had four string bass sets like that way back.
