Messing around with this instrument a few days ago, I had an idea for a tune, and I wanted to see if indeed it wasn't something someone else had already written. Have you heard this before? Sounds very very cool. Doesn't sound familiar though although one of the changes sounds like one of yours ;) |

Another one I almost forgot about until I was going through some old stuff recently ... I always loved Til Tuesday. Spun a couple of tracks just this morning. |

Is anyone else thinking of going to this? I am considering heading out for it myself. I was at the 2005 event in Charlottesville and it was great (even if it was the scene of one of my more memorable gear meltdowns). I still have the writeup posted at: http://www.detroitstick.com/writings/events/sti... |

When it rains it pours. Tom Saunders also passed away over the weekend. Won't mean much to people who aren't from the Detroit area but Saunders was somewhat of a jazz legend around Detroit. He was a fantastic trumpeter and formed a band called the Surfside Six who performed all over and had a regula... |

The Detroit News reported today that Doug Fieger died yesterday in Woodland Hills, CA of cancer. Fieger was originally from the Detroit area and was the front man for "The Knack" who made it big in 1979 with "My Sharona" which Fieger co-wrote. Fieger was 57 and was the younger br... |

My current Grand Stick began its life with a PASV4. I liked the variety of the sounds on the melody side and at that time I was looking for a sound that was more "electric" as Greg put it. I really struggled with the bass though and while recording the 121normal CD, I ended up going back a... |

Yes ... the StepAbout is another preamp so it can take the place of the SP 13. It really all depends on the type of routing options you need and also what you think sounds better. Not to mention the rack mounted vs floor unit aspect. |

Unfortunately we've all been there. When I think of the quality of a couple of the guitars I started out on, it's a miracle that I didn't throw in the towel. Your average home piano spends most of its life horribly out of tune and is difficult to play. At least with rented band instruments, the shop... |

Was out of town and offline for a while and just saw this today. Michigan has actually been kind of a hotbed. Lots of players. Some active. Some not. There's a guy named Bob Schrum in Grand Rapids that you might consider contacting. Send me a message offline and I'll drop you his email address. As S... |

I recently made the jump to the StepAbout as well. I was using a setup similar to what Brett described although a while back I shelved the SP 13 and had been using the acoustic amp sim in my VF-1 to preamp the melody side. I've had the StepAbout for around 3-4 weeks now and it is my only source of p... |
