When I put all my thoughts on this subject (or at least the ones which have been inspired by this subject) together, I arrived at a rather involved outline. I will write this as I have time, though I think I may wind up just posting a link to a PDF when it is finished. Being a writer who hasn't writ... |

I speak out of total ignorance of the ACTV-2 Block's internals, but it stands to reason that some sort of boost circuit is involved. When converting a dual mono (or stereo, though they are not technically the same thing) signal to summed mono, a 6dB loss is incurred. Given that those trim pots are r... |

To Robstafarian: So you're saying I need formal musical training to enjoy this music? I can't just listen to it as anybody would? I need to train myself to tell what Stick, pickup, etc is being used? That's even worse... music that only musicians can enjoy (or, even worse, music that only *stickist... |

I have thought of a great deal more to say, in clarification of my "signature instrument" versus "invisible instrument" categorization, but I won't post it unless someone shows interest. I am conscious of my tendency to dominate discourse ("the mind acquires speed," et ... |

when I listen to this large playlist I made with all that Stick music, I have no idea who I'm listening to; it all sounds so similar, and after a while it can even get boring (yes, there, I said it). The only sound I can easily distinguish is Per's and that's because it doesn't even sound like a St... |

Is that a Stick Espresso Boiler? How incredibly cool. Where can one get one those? http://www.stickist.com/download/file.php?avatar=4035_1369948168.jpg Following the general theme of the thread: Do not get one, Per. Those things don't make real espresso: the pressure is insufficient (in the extreme... |

I would want a full range harmonizer to combat the loneliness. As for reverb or delay on a desert island, you people must be masochists.
No doubt, I would play "Message in a Bottle" better than Sting himself if I ever made it back to civilization. |
