UPDATE : The guitar has finally been returned to me. The good news is that they put on a new neck. Not just a replacement fretboard. Stefan also included a gig bag and extra strings at no cost. Which was very nice of him. My only complaint is that the setup (action) was horrific. It looks like it w...

I always wished they could have had the Railboard 8 have the same Bridge and Nut set up, instead of having that massive gap running down the center While we are on this subject ... yes, i think the Railboards have a fairly important omission: An 8 string with equal string spacing, intended for tuni...

I'm the bass player whose right hand adds some chords and an occasional solo in a trio that plays original tunes and standards in fusion style. The other two are a guitarist that leans toward Holdsworth and a drummer who provides the "Rock" in Jazzrock. Tunes we play include Wayne Shorter...

Hey Captain: Being a 12-string DBR player I've thought about that. A lot. Make me one too.

Could you share the string gauges of your DBR set?

I know you're chomping at the bit, but I haven't gotten around to string changing (ordering) yet.

When they don't "tune" is when I go. This set is lasting forever. I usually come up with some excuse to change them, but these have been tuning up nicely for long after the usual "they sound dull" period. And this set has been thru hell-I dropped the Stick "face-first" ...

I tried holding the Stick in that position, to alleviate l.h. problems. Then I can't reach upper positions (where I play alot) Just doesn't work for me. And w/ the back problems, vertical is the only way. Love the groove of Latino!

Has anyone ordered Newtone strings before? Any recommendation between round and hex cores? Any recommendation between nickel plated and stainless steel? Since Stick strings are made by D'Addario and they are nickel and nickel and round cores personally I would go with what The Master intended for h...

One day I said something in one of Greg's posts here, about me being a very broke Stick player on disability and not being able to afford his new DVD Stick tutorial. A few days later I receive a parcel with his DVD, and a note saying, "Don't tell anyone, just use this." Sorry Greg I just t...

Me? A bassist. In order, played Fender Jazz, upright, and then fretless P bass. (playing in tune was harder on P bass than upright). Saw the little Stick ad in Guitar Player. Read an interview with Emmett Chapman. At some point got one of those floppy records of Emmetts playing. Big Weather Report f...
