Just want to give you an idea of a pic with and without a flash on a camera...that gives a different impression about the color of a stick...pics are not perfect and the close up isn't either but you can see the difference.

Here is a pic from last night's gig at Lorimar. Still a red-brown as opposed to a brown red. When I saw Steve A. in 2007 at the Montréal jazz festival I had the same reaction...where did I see this instrument before...and it was around '74 or '75 on a tv show. I guess it was Emmett...cannot remember if it was him or not...but I remembered really well the stick. And I finally got mine in 201...

I've never seen a maple one...and there is no pic. Is the Stick on the cover of Steve Adelson's "Stickology" book, as well as on the cover of his newest CD, a maple? Looks like it to me. I guess you're right on his newest CD but on Stickology...hum...I'm not sure...look at this page - htt...
