I was about to get into a marathon session of Mario Kart and then Super Mario Maker with the kids, and then saw this and got to "tabula rasa" and the kids yelled at me. I'm going to read this later tonight! |

if you find a good deal or something in stock and CAN'T WAIT, BUY IT. all points brought up so far are valid. any Stick you get, you will get good resale value. i have an original 10 string Ironwood and 12 string bamboo. NOT SELLING. if i want another one (which i do) and can't afford it, i'll sell... |

Very enjoyable--good stuff! Very nice remix, although I'm not familiar with the original at all. I'll have to check that out as well, but nice arrangement! |

Thanks Scott! I left this version wide open for an awesome lead. I'm not quite sure where "Chromatic Jack" is supposed to go yet. Each new layer added to it has materially changed it, and has expanded it out from just some piano chords I had laying around in my mental workshop that I didn'... |

Awesome stuff; saw that on Facebook and was blown away!
By the way, Manny hooked me up with the Vimeo embed: Just strip out that video number and put the Vimeo tag around it.

I think you have to get more than one! As mentioned, it's a matter of taste on the 10 versus 12 string. I got a rosewood 10-string and then the Railboard (just 10 strings so far), and I think I want a 12 string, but I'm honestly not really even using all of my 10 strings yet, at least on the bass si... |

Here's the full version of Chromatic Jack , a piano, drums, and Chapman Stick (Railboard) bass tune. It needs a lead line--screaming melody-side Stick, of course!--and also vocals. But the three rhythm instruments--piano, drums, and Stick bass--are done and complete. One take on piano...because 30 y... |

2 things: 1. It occurs to me that accidentals, and grace notes, happen on the one all the time! Someone should push back on my BS there--don't worry, I'll argue with myself! You just have to get to the root of the chord on the one, but you can get there chromatically. But if you STAY there, and neve... |

Gene, this was so very, very inspirational! Thank you for posting this. You gotta go through a lot of sucking before you can get to rocking, so the sooner you suck, and the harder you suck, the more awesome the rock that will come. (I need to work on that Sink's Law, I admit: the best one I got so f... |
