This is a good resource too: http://stick.com/instruments/tech/setup/ I agree that even a great guitar luthier might not get the instrument in optimal playing condition for tapping, unless they are familiar with the ideas mentioned in Emmett and Greg’s resources above (for example, using the truss r... |

While some effects pedals will have a proper impedance (like 1 MOhm) to handle an instrument level signal, the pre-amp is generally the first step, setting up the basic tone and signal level for the rest of the signal chain. |

This is something I need to experiment with more. I’ve used impulse responses of a classical guitar body subtly mixed in with the regular signal to add a slight sense of resonance to the tone. I’ve found it takes some effort to successfully use guitar amp impulse responses for clean tones, as I feel... |

Basically Deep Matched Reciprocal Melody with Mirrored 4th Bass: I've considered this tuning before (the melody just a whole step below what I use), there's a neat symmetry in each direction. Ultimately I decided there wasn't much advantage to having fourths going in each direction - it's not hard ... |

Thanks for the feedback guys!
In an ideal world where I had more time, I think it would be fun to learn baroque basso continuo (figured bass) improvisation on the Stick, providing the harmonic structure of a piece from the bass line and chord inversion symbols. |

Hi everyone. Here's one of the renaissance/baroque pieces I've been working on lately. It's a piece from a book I recently picked up called Easy Renaissance Pieces for Classical Guitar (Jerry Willard). The mirrored 4ths 5+7 tuning really helps out, and allows the piece to be played exactly as writte... |
