Excellent! I booked a cabin and I’m determined to make it this year. I’m looking forward to meeting you and everyone else. All Stick players are either old friends or new friends.

Do you think this will be the main event of the year for celebrating Free Hands and having everyone there in one place? I don’t know if it will be THE main event but with Emmett coming to a beautiful facility with great teachers, I think it will be wonderful and well attended. I’m going to make the...

I was in the audience when he performed that. It was great and everyone there really loved it. That was at the first Interlochen workshop 10 years ago. I’ve been showing that to people for 10 years and it does not get old for me. He’ll be there this summer and I’m looking forward to hearing what he’...

I mentioned this on the other 4ths thread. Mirrored 4ths really only works well with a 12-string Stick. I tried it on a 10-string and it is too limiting. And on an SG12 it is perfect for me.

Hi, all. It's great to see people tackling this great tune. One of my big hopes was to be able to play this tune. Before I was sidelined by my current medical issues I was well into transcribing One Cloud. I was communicating with Rob and he was helping me by suggesting corrections. Here's the PDF a...

Next time I meet someone in person who has M4 th tuning I’ll play around and see if it is to my liking. For the time being I’ll stick with 4/5ths. I’m cool with it’s “downside” I use mirrored 4ths and I recommend the standard 4ths/5ths tuning to most people. All tunings are a compromise. The standa...

Eric - Curious which version of the M4th tuning you use on the SG12 - "Piano" or "Guitar"? I use one that I created myself after a lot of experimentation. The lowest open string on the bass side is F# which gives me a G on the first fret. The strings go up in 4ths from there. Th...

I find that I can transcribe classical pieces more directly with mirrored 4ths. I consider the tuning to be the classical music tuning for Stick. I also like the sound of the chord shapes on the low side. It really needs a 12-string Stick to be fully functional. I tried it on a 10-string once and it...
