Post acoustic drum loops
Does anyone know of a good source for free acoustic drum loops??!
I've recently lost the drummer I had been working with for over 8 years, having a hard time replacing him. I guess I have to settle for the next best thing-drum loops

Check these out: http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/loo ... collection

Not just drums of course and not just acoustic and perhaps a big hurdle would be
getting the software first to run the loops but it (Acid) is very versatile and user friendly :geek: .

Look around there is probably a free trial somewhere...

IMHO the loops are much more interesting over all than the "Jampack's" that Apple provides  .

I use Toontrack's EZDrummer. Nice thing is the loops can be modified in Logic. They also have Superior Drummer where you can go further by tweaking the sound of each drum.
I have the expansion pack for "Vintage Rock" that has some nice varieties of acoustic drum sounds. There's different expansion packs for different genres. So if you don't want "Techno beats", you don't have to buy them.

I agree with JRJ about "Jam Pack", if I remember right, those are audio files? I don't recall if i could modify them.

I've also taken the EZDrummer drop-and-drag files and put them into a soft-synth track and get different sounds out of the patterns. Haven't tried it yet, but I also have NI Battery 3 which is just drum sounds. Might take a bit of effort, but I'm thinking I could create another set of sounds for an EZDrummer pattern.

Gnat from this board told me about this software. Nice thing was, I sold my electronic handrum afterwards, didn't need it anymore. I'm not a drummer, and do not like creating a lot of drum patterns from scratch. A neat thing I did recently was to use my MIDI keyboard to record a Battery track of my own, playing against an EZDrummer loop. The keyboard can also be used with the EZDrummer sounds. Sure beats the old days of drum machines, much more efficient and capable.
