Re: Andres Godoy - Guitar with one hand
I'm impressed, groovin' too. AG has created his own string tapping technique to do what he has to do, but in the larger picture, it's who he is more than what he does. He's got the world of South American music in his head, his bones and ancestry.
I love that world of music and I can feel that it's totally open ended on his guitar, not merely showing off one ability that he does best. I'm sure he can play any song arrangement he wants and probably has a large repertoire as a performing artist.
There's an expressive limitation to the orchestration and sonic variation that would normally be found in the classical guitarist's right hand, but he more than makes up for it by focusing on the harmony - my favorite part of guitar and song arrangement.
Of necessity, there's a harpsichord effect inherent in striking the notes with one hand on the fretboard, still, his fingers are directly engaging the strings to render the rich nuances of acoustic guitar, filling all roles (percussive too) and serving the complete conception of the song.
Creating a technique is one thing, but the artist resides inside - 'nough said.

It's an interesting point of view about technique developing, if you want to get out that sound you have in your head or you have some disability, you will build your technique through the need to express themselves artistically... this is art Cheers!!
