Save the Date: Virginia Stick Camp Sept 29-Oct 2
Hi everyone, This is a preliminary announcement for an event I'm putting together for the weekend of Sept 29-Oct 2, 2016. The Virginia Stick Camp will a great opportunity to jam with other Stickists, take a few classes, swim in a river, play some frisbee, sit by a campfire, and perform for the general public (optional, and definitely encouraged). Group play and sharing ideas will be the focus, rather than several days full of classes and lessons. We'll spend our days at a rustic camp near Charlottesville, with a lodge and cabins, (or pitch a tent if you like), and on Friday and Saturday nights we'll head to town to give some concerts. Arrive Thursday for a welcome dinner and leave on Sunday afternoon. The camp has a nice kitchen. This will be a low-cost event (bring your sleeping bag) with most meals included. Stay tuned for more details... People who want to teach a class should write to me at stickist@aol.com, and we can make arrangements. Or if you are interested in receiving direct email updates about this, please feel free to write and I'll put you on a contact list. Charlottesville is located about 2 hours southwest of Washington, DC.

Darn! I'll be in Colorado that weekend. Any thoughts about doing it again next year?

So bummed! This could have been my first... Well if my stick was in by then. I'm gonna be in Virginia the first week of Aug. I will be making one of the camps sometime for sure. Should most likely get my feet wet with a stick for a few before going though! LOL

Hi everypne, The details of the event are now posted, along with signup information. If you would like to bring family along, that can be done as well. The cabins are rustiic (no heat), but it won't be too cold at night, and if you fancy a dip in the river, by all mans do so... if you prefer, bring a tent! http://greghoward.com/camp/I've received inquiries from some friend who would like to teach classes, more about that soon. There's room for 30, so sign up soon. The early bird rate, including most meals is only $225.
