Hi all,

I am way ahead of schedule I know but it's been an exciting couple of weeks and I just wanted to get people thinking about next summer.

2019 is a significant year for sure. It marks 50 years of Free Hands when Emmett first turned his guitar upright and the playing method we all use today was born. 2019 also marks 20 years of Stick workshops in Michigan and 10 years at Interlochen.

In 2009 we celebrated 40 years of Free Hands by hosting our first ever Interlochen Stick Workshop which featured Greg Howard and Emmett himself. We had a turnout of 20 students that year and rang in what would be the first of many workshops with a bang.

In 2019, we want to celebrate 50 years of Free Hands and 10 years of Interlochen in much the same fashion. Our plans our tentative but currently we have verbal commitments from Greg Howard, Steve Adelson, and a return to Michigan by Emmett Chapman.

The dates are Wed-Sat, July 10-13, 2019.

So start thinking about it. Keep your calendar clear. And check back here for updates as they happen.

Thanks Glenn, this is about as much warning as I will need to budget for the trip—in light of financing my forthcoming Alto Stick. I will revisit my prior research, and I welcome any and all PMs which may inform my planning.

Same for me. I'm always playing the long game with stick and Interlochen seems to be the camp of destiny!

Promo for the 2018 camp season. It's almost that time of year.

Last year was a blast and I learned a lot and I'd love to go this year again, but the Sink family has their first ever family reunion back in Kansas City then, and the Michigan Sinks are already committed to going.

I do plan to throw in $100 towards someone needy, like we did last year to help Art rock it out with us. Glenn or Steve Balogh, just someone point me to the gofundme or whatever when a need is identified. I'd love to help.

Ya'll rock it out! It's one of the most worthwhile things you can do to get better, meet other extremely awesome people who are some of the few weird people like you to know and play and own a Stick, and the best chance ever to meet and talk to and learn from some of the best Stickists--and best Stickist teachers--in the world. It's a great time and I highly value the memories made last year. Come if you can!
