Well...I just got some really, really disappointing news.

SE informed me that I won't see my Railboard for another 6-8 weeks.

That means I'll be at Interlochen "stickless" :(

And here I had my rig all compact and set up to drag to Interlochen...

Hi Steve,

I'll be bringing my Railboard, and I'm sure there will be one or two extra instruments there. Non ti preoccupare.

Thanks, Greg. Glenn Poorman has kindly offered the loan of a "backup" Stick he has, so I think I'm covered.

Really sad I wont be making it this year. I just have too much going on at the moment. It was one of the things I really wanted to do after getting my Railboard. I really hope to make it to the next gathering and meet everybody!

So, we're about a week out.

Who am I going to get to meet at Interlochen besides Glenn, Oz, Larry & Greg? I think that @EricTheGray will be there, though I haven't heard from him in a while...

Hi, Steve.

Unfortunately, I will not be at Interlochen this year. I had a heart attack a few months ago and I have not recuperated enough for travel. I am very disappointed by so many things about this, one of them is not being able to meet you in person. I was holding out a little hope that I might be ready by now but it was not to be. You are going to have a blast and make many new long-lasting friendships. You might have some musical fun too. :D

Have a great time everyone!

-Eric

I’m sad to not be able to attend this year. Border might open July 21 I heard so a lot too late. I’ll be there in two years time for sure. I’ll miss everyone. This is a great camp

We'll miss Rob and Eric for sure. This year's workshop will certainly end up being a bit different. Smaller turnout. Smaller enrollment for the summer arts camp so less young musicians on campus. Meals catered to our building. No public performances. All these things add up to just a little less of the "Interlochen experience" but considering where they were just one year ago, this is progress and I'm happy to see them trending in the right direction.

Just a side note. Last year was the first time they had no students on campus in the summer since they opened their doors in 1928.

It has certainly been a year full of challenges for everyone and for me personally so it will be really nice to see this workshop kick off and enjoy the fantastic company.

Cheers!

Bummer! So sorry to hear that. Beyond missing the workshop, just dealing with medical issues is not good news. Hope the recovery continues well! Our paths have crossed so often online I was looking forward to a F2F!! :D

This year's Interlochen Workshop has officially drawn to a close. It was a smaller group than usual but that just meant more depth in the instruction. It was a great time with a really good group of players. Many thanks to Greg and Larry for their incredible instruction and inspiration.

After some decompression, I'll get to my usual winded write-up and post here when it's ready.
