Re: RIP, Boris….
Thank for the suggestion Anders, it works fine for me directly on youtube. In case folk want to know what's at the end of the link, the title is "TOROPANISHKA by Boris Bazurov CHAPMAN STICK & GUSLI".

Re: RIP, Boris….
https://youtu.be/KmlY7JakNRo?t=560This is from the Stick Camp on Mallorca. I showed up on my Ural sidecar bike and we became instant friends I and Boris. We met last time just before the pandemic in Moscow and we played together with his band. I was actually in the motorcycle garage yesterday morning working on my Ural when Alexander contacted me regarding Boris passing away...... I totally lost it when he wrote this...... Quote: Boris spoke very warmly about you, and as I found out later, he was right. You are truly a wonderful person. Boris wasn't wrong about you. Blessed memory to him. Seems like I was the first one they contacted besides family and fellow musicians in Moscow. I am Swedish but have most likely seen more of Russia than most Russians.... Seen the whole country basically all the way west of Ulan-Ude. Have Vladivostok and Magadan left to visit. It´s a huge country. Twice as big as the second largest country on the planet, Canada. I and my wife has taken our bikes to many trips through Russia. Murmansk/Kola peninsula/Arhangelsk, Caucasus, went to Mongolia in -12, Kazakstan in -16 etc...... LONG motorcycle rides...... Packed my Stick in the sidecar and took the Ural to the Stick Camp on Mallorca back in -15. Boris looked beyond surprised..... A Swedish Stick-playing guy on a Russian motorcycle in Spain? Now I don´t speak very good Russian. I know 35 - 40 words and besides knowing how to ask for directions to petrol stations, hotels, ATM machines etc most of those words are bad words. Boris was not very good at English either but it did not matter. We could communicate anyway. I introduced him to people I know in Moscow and he introduced me to his fellow band mates and others. A dear friend of mine owns a biker place in Moscow. Honky Tonk. Boris knew about the place and had actually been there. Boris was not a biker but they became friends as well. Boris and I had planned to meet up again after the summer. Will be in Moscow again then..... This nutter instrument that we all play..... Would not have met Boris if I had not stumbled over the Stick back in 1987 and decided to get one. Met him 28 years later and we became friends. I am still in chock after yesterdays news.... Will have a vodka with his fellow musicians after the summer.

Don’t like stacking quotes, interesting little story about your friendship with Boris. Thanks for sharing Jan.

Re: RIP, Boris….
Boris embraced many of the ideals that Emmett built the Chapman Stick on, namely, creating new ways to make music with improvisation and without the constraints of traditional musical conventions that came before.
Pioneer: develop or be the first to use or apply (a new method, area of knowledge, or activity). "he has pioneered a number of innovative techniques"
He was a pioneer and is without comparison, he will be greatly missed for his generous spirit and creative musical genius.

Re: RIP, Boris….
Only just caught up with this , how very sad. Like some others here I first saw Boris play live at the StickCamp in Mallorca . It was a unique and amazing experience . I still have some phone video of it, will look it up.

Re: RIP, Boris….
I saw the sad news in a Facebook group a few days ago. I have always enjoyed Boris' video posts of playing, everything in his own way with that unique attitude.
