Post RIP, Boris….
I am in total chock. Was contacted by one of the musicians that plays with Boris Bazurov that I also know….. Boris passed away yesterday. We’ve lost another of the truly great ones in our little Stick community…. Boris was a great friend of mine. Sad, sad news….. [emoji22][emoji22][emoji120][emoji120][emoji22][emoji22]

Sincere Condolences. Did things with the Stick that nobody could do or will do.

Shocking. So sad. Anyone in the Stick world that has NOT heard of this musician needs to check out his musical posts on youtube, fb. He made up his own playing technique (all ten fingers - left hand thumb bass) as well as his own instruments, ethnic Russian folk songs and wild improvs. And recently playing in a bowling alley. I mean, I love his music (although not for everyone) but anyone playing Emmetts Instrument NEEDS to see/hear this powerhouse. Condolences to his family - biological and musical.

Boris is one of those Stick players that is always in the back of my mind whenever I pick up the Stick and start playing for a while. Such a positive influence. Rest In Peace Boris, thank you for the inspiration. My condolences to his friends and loved ones.

I meet him at Mallorca StickCamp a few years ago. A very kind person, as shy as me, so I regret having not communicate with him more. He invited me to play with him, it was probably the most confusing jam I've ever played. Really special/out of this world. He had found a very distinctive voice that made him a very special person, and I ended up enjoying his art.
This one is probably my fave :

That was sad news indeed. I never listened much to Boris' stuff but it's clear he was a very special player with a completely own style.

Back in the mid-90s when I first found out about the Stick and contemplated getting one, I know I had a raspy MP3 with just a little snippet of Boris' music. I remember that it sounded exotic and interesting. Since I never throw anything away, I'm sure it is still there somewhere in a backup of some old computer. Should try to dig that up and see what it was.

That feed comes up as unavailable here (UK). :(

If you let us know the title, a youtube search might find us an alternative link (these things seem to work in strange & mysterious ways...)?

Can you play it if you go to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kHdPQzxTaXQ ?

It says - for me in Sweden - that it is not allowed to be embedded on other sites, but it plays fine on Youtube.
