Post To Portugal with California Guitar Trio
Hi all,

Headed to Portugal this week with the California Guitar Trio. My first time there! Anybody on here from that part of the world?

We will be playing:

Saturday April 23, 9pm
Teatro-Cine de Gouveia
Av. 1 de Maio
Gouveia, Portugal

Hope to meet some of you in person if so!

Cheers!

I'd hate to assume you've already been in contact with Rodrigo (bachdois here, http://www.rodrigoserrao.com/ in the wider world) & be wrong, so I'll mention him just in case.

Congratulations on the oddest place for a gig? You're maybe 50 mi. from the coast maybe get in a nice fish dinner? Have fun and hope you're not just in/out I know a lot of Portugese here in Jersey they work here & send $$$ home to family and will retire there. They own villas!

Definitely get in touch with Rodrigo if you haven't already...world class Stickist who seems to be gigging constantly and lives in Portugal. If you're not familiar with him, give this episode of the Tap In Time podcast a listen. He's a regular part of the podcast team, but in this episode the rest of us "interviewed" him about his latest CD release.

Rodrigo also was placed front/center on this episode:

(As already mentioned in this thread, Rodrigo goes by bachdois here on Stickist.)

Yeah, you should see if you can get Rod on the bill Tom, that would be a great opportunity for all involved.

sadly not there, but spent time there and it's wonderful
and easy for americans

the cycling is really great, the wine is cheap, definitely hit up the porto
the diving off the main coast is not the super best but can be neat, and they have invasive algae which is choking areas out.

the highway signage is good, but the local signage can be a bit challenging and they are sometimes anticipatory (like some signs in San Fran where they tell you the UPCOMING street)

the people are wonderful (and I say that with a Brasilian sister-in-law)
