I found this list of Chapman Stick players on the internet today. http://stick.phui.com/
Neat. Not updated for a very long time according to the 'Last Updated' but an interesting angle & the once an album is out there it may still be possible to find it so the data remains very useful. I'll pop it in 'Others'.

Thank you. I spotted him in the discussion on alternative pickups, so he's on my ToBeAdded list.

Now 221 players...I thought we were a lot more than this number. At the same time, even though we were 5 or 6,000 stick players, it's very small number compared to other instruments...like, guitar, bass, drums, piano, etc.

221 with a known web presence (& not including any that are Facebook only).
I'm sure there are more players than that. I'm pretty sure there are more with a web presence. I only discovered 4 of the of the new ones because they happened to be in "you might also be interested in" lists youtube's algorithms decided were a good match for my apparent interests.

I very much doubt there are as many as 5 or 6,000 active players? There are less than 8,000 Sticks, and consider how many people have more than one? Some considerably more than one. Also consider how many are probably tucked away at the back of a cupboard?
My personal wild guess is that the average “Sticks per active player” is at least 2? I know of a good few with 3-4 and some who almost get into double figures. Given the size of the total pool it doesn’t take many of those to get the average up. Extending from that for an even wilder guess I suspect there might be between 2 & 4 thousand active players in the World. I’d not be at all surprised if the real figure was less; I’d be amazed if it was more.
I'd be delighted to hear of anyone else's guesses & thinking on this.
