Bob Culbertson - 2nd Australian Stick Seminar & Stick Night.
Calling all Stickists! I am very excited to announce that Bob Culbertson is returning to Australia in January 2010, for the second Australian Stick Seminar! The event will be held in Melbourne, on January 30 and 31 and will include a two-day instructional seminar, a Stick Night and a number of solo performances from Bob. Bob will be holding instructional seminars on the weekend of Saturday 30 and Sunday 31 from 10am to 4pm. The venue for the seminar is Chapel Space, Hodgkinson Street, Clifton Hill. The venue is no more than 30 minutes from the CBD. Trains depart the CBD regularly and the venue is an easy 5-minute walk from Clifton Hill station. The registration cost is $250, which includes a ticket for the Stick Night, valued at $30/$25 concession. You can attend the seminar for one day for $110 and anyone travelling from as far as New Zealand, Perth or Far North Queensland can attend the seminar for free (proof will be required, no cheating!). Stickists – if you know of any other Stickists that are geographically challenged, please forward me their contact details or pass this information onto them if you can. The Stick Night is planned for the Sunday evening 7:30-10:30pm at Spencers Live, 419 Spencer street, Melbourne. If enough people are unable to stay in Melbourne until Sunday night, we might consider having the Stick Night on the Saturday evening instead, so please let me know if that’s the case for you. Please confirm your attendance for the weekend at your earliest convenience. Details of payment will follow in the next instalment along with further event details. Don’t forget that the earlier you register your interest, the better it looks for Bob and will encourage him to keep coming back - and the more likely we can convince other accomplished Stickists to attend future events! For those that attended the previous Stick Seminar in Sydney, it will be great for us all to meet again and show Bob and each other how we’ve improved and to honour Bob’s dedication to the Australian Stick community! Please check out wotif.com as our suggestion for your accommodation needs. If you have friends in Melbourne that you want to catch up with, then of course, this is a great opportunity.
I’d really like to make a big noise for the OZ Stick community, and am looking at a number of high profile local artists in the Stick Night, I will fill you in as the date draws closer. PLEASE let me know if you have any Stick-related releases of your own, that you would like to showcase at the Stick Night. If you can email me an mp3 of your material and a suggested line-up, I’ll see if the appropriate local artists are available. If the music were overly complex, charts/lead sheets would also be very handy. I look forward to hearing from you all very soon.
Enthusiastically Yours.
Radkon (Konrad Park)

Temptation for me. I've never been to Australia, would like to see it someday. How long of a drive is it from Melbourne to Port Clinton, or is it better by plane? ( I have relatives there) Looks something like 600 miles, but I don't know the terrain. If I'm not mistaken, that's summer, a peak tourist season (higher plane fares).

Is that Port Clinton, South Australia? That would be about 1 1/2 hrs drive from Adelaide, which in turn is about the same distance to Melbourne as LA to San Fransisco. It's a very short flight (and cheap these days) or about 7 hours by road. No airport in Pt Clinton as far as I know! Cheers, Andy

Should be awesome, there's a few more Stickists up here in Sydney area, so I'll make sure all/most of them come down for it! Cheers, EG

Hi Konrad,
Great that you are having another seminar there. Will there be an "official website" for the event, or should I just point people to this thread for information?

Re: Bob Culbertson - 2nd Australian Stick Seminar & Stick Night.
Hey Greg.
Please direct people to this thread for now.
It is my intention to get a Stick events website up in future, I'll include that in this thread if I manage to get it up and running fairly quickly.
Thanks for the heads up, great to hear from you.

I said Port Clinton on accident - and there's actually such a place nearby! They live in Port Lincoln, and often reside in Port Pirie. How is the access getting around those areas from Melbourne? By chance is there an International Airport in Adelaide? Thanks!
