Hi all,

I suppose this would be as good a time as any to announce I'll be releasing my album One Cloud soon, hopefully available in the late April/early May timeframe.

The album is 48 minutes of original music, and basically represents the culmination of 5 years focus on the Stick. I've attempted to distill my various progressive rock and classical influences, as well as techniques I picked up on other instruments, and incorporate it into my own style.

I recorded the album at home on my Mac and did all the mixing/effects processing completely in the digital domain, thus for the mastering I chose a complimentary approach and had Michael Romanowski use his analog/tube/tape methods in a high end studio to establish a more "vintage" warm, full sound (I suppose you could say it's a "DAD" CD if you remember that terminology!)

The whole album making process, which started in September (or a few years ago if you count the time involved composing and polishing the pieces) was somewhat more agonizing and time consuming than I expected (there always seems to be a never-ending set of tweaks, improvements and second-guessing one can do), but overall I'm quite happy with the result and hope it's a noteworthy contribution to the Stick world.

The album will be available on CD Baby and iTunes, and I'll post more info as it's available.

As a long time admirer of your playing I can't wait to get this Rob. I seem to recall that One cloud was the very first stick video to surface on YouTube many years ago!

Are you making any CDs at all or is it digital download only?

EDIT: I love your choice of song titles as well, some people come up with naff stuff but those all sound really cool.

Hi twizzle... yes I am making CDs (1000 of them, the minimum for replication) which hopefully won't collect dust in my basement for years. They will be handy to bring to gigs though.

Glad you like the titles- sometimes I think that's harder than composing the music! It took me up until the last minute to figure a few of them out, as they changed several times along the way. Anyone who remembers "Noodle Soup" will recognize it within the larger piece called "The Long Circle".

Hey Rob, any idea when will it be on iTunes? I tend to buy most of my music there lately.

Did the first and second enigmas end up on the cutting room floor?

have you contacted SE about making them available from them? Most Stick-CDs I buy are directly from SE, I'd definitely buy a copy of your CD.

Not sure about iTunes- CD Baby takes care of that but I think it would be online within a couple weeks of the CD appearing on CD Baby.

As for the other question - I'd say that is part of the enigma.
