Rob Martino Live on Echoes

It hasn't taken off yet, but the instrument has many devotees, among them, Rob Martino who has just released an album of solo Chapman Stick songs called One Cloud. He plays his finger tapping music live on Echoes. Tuesday September 21 A n Interview with Rob MartinoWith its 12 strings, it looks like a guitar fretboard on steroids, but the Chapman Stick, invented by Emmett Chapman 40 years ago, is an instrument of subtle possibilities and intricate music. And after hearing Rob Martino, you'll wonder why everyone isn't playing it. We talk to Martino about creating new music for the Chapman Stick. Well, shoot. I'm in one of the few states that doesn't have Echoes on the radio. I hope I get to hear these sometime.

Great Job Rob!!!!! I really enjoyed your playing. If you can, tell us about the experience. What kind of rig did you bring? How much setup time was there? etc. Brett

Re: Rob Martino Live on Echoes
Thanks guys, I haven't heard it yet - I remember a few rough spots which makes me a little apprehensive about listening to it, but I got through it ok. The second take of a couple tunes were better, which I hope they used!
For this session I used the Boss GT-10 (melody) and GT-10B (bass), each running stereo to their mixer (I just monitored via headphones), I think it only took about 15 minutes to setup and sound check.
About the experience- it was pretty cool, they are located in an old house in a middle of a picturesque rural area of Pennsylvania. Very friendly staff, and John is an easy going guy. They set me up in a large sound booth, I felt sort of tight once starting to record, it seemed a little freaky thinking about how many people might be listening, but it got better as it went along. They let me re-record a few things after the first set, then I had the interview afterwards which will air later in September.

Re: Rob Martino Live on Echoes
It sounded great, Rob.
Your playing just keeps getting better and better. I can't remember the exact tune or the verbatim comment John made, but it was indeed "powerful" at many points. Looking forward to the interview, and thanks for the nod to Tony, Steve, Bob and Yours Truly.
