Post New 12 string Grand ordered
Hello. I ordered a new 12 string Grand stick just before the start of recent run started and hope to receive in late Oct or early Nov. I have been inspired by Bob Culbertson and Steve Adelson's DVD's. I am 65 and laughing to myself at willingness to learn a new instrument. Am an active bass player in a Southern rock band and look forward to the challenge. I dabble wihh piano and guitar . I play thru a stereo set up, thru 2 ampeg pre's ,Ashley compression and Crown power into a SVT 8x10 wired stereo (4x10) x 2. Wasn't sure what to order and opted for 12 string PASV-4. Hope I have made a good decision. Any thoughts will be appreciated. Thank Bob

You really can't go wrong. Every stick that comes out is great.

where are you from?

what kind of wood and inlays did you get.

Learning a new instrument @ 65...Why Not? That's great. I just started playing Stick less than 1 year ago, and loving it. You already have the foundation , so to speak, from playing other instruments. The discipline of learning a new instrument and discovery of a new voice has breathed some fresh air into my music making, plus it's fun. :D Way to go. You won't regret it.

I had to smile at your screen name... ratfink. Memories of the Ed Roth character.

See signature. I plug it through a laptop out into the PA. The system of software I have put together gives me the sound I have been dreaming of. Received my first Stick in January at age 54 and my experience is that the older you are the faster you learn any new instrument you may pick up. Guess that has to do with the accumulated wider musical experience? But a lot of cool things with the Stick is unique compared with guitar, sax n flute that I have been playing for a much longer time; like for example the technique to improvise melodies and/or chords with both hands simultaneously. Man, did my brain hurt the first week as I forced it into multitasking mode!
