New 12 string
Received new 12 string. Beautiful job. I am discouraged, but haven't given up yet. I'm fearful that I don't have enough available time to devote to instrument. Time will tell. May have to find new home for this beautifully crafted Stick. Will see.

Just play it ,you could have played for 15 minutes instead of writing that whiny post. Good luck ,just play it.

Re: New 12 string
Ratfink Don't listen to your inner critic...Almost 10 years ago I sat down for dinner with a good friend (and respected musician) and I told him that I was thinking about getting a Stick He said "get it now because it will take you ten years to learn how to play it" Of course I got the Stick, of course I said to myself 'this is hard' or "it will take too much time" but for some mysterious reason it was always fun and now I play every day even if just for a few minutes. Don't have expectation, find enjoyment. jrj

Re: New 12 string
If you can find 15 mins/day to practice, you can make steady improvement. You must remember that you cannot learn everything right now.

Re: New 12 string
The joy of discovery on The Stick, however small (or large), is a priceless experience. Finding one chord, one melodic statement, a string of notes you didn't know existed, these are the "hidden treasures" that are within your 12 strings. Look forward to the experience and the rewards will be self motivating. Or ...you could watch the news. I. Shelby Releast
