Thanks to Brett for organizing this. It's been almost 4 years since the New York seminar, and there are so many players in this part of the world. Looking forward to it.

Heh yeah, when it came to the cost my reaction was "That's it??!" Seems quite well priced to me.

I can't wait - I need to do some hardcore practicing between now and then!

So, using your math, that works out to $462/day per instructor. Assuming 15 students and they all get lessons, which for most instruments range from $50-75/hr - each teacher is giving 6-9 lessons per day at $50-75/hr.

Wow - these guys are just screwing these hapless students.

Give me a break. It all seems pretty reasonable to me...

Minus transportation, hotel, venue, and food costs...

Seems very reasonable to me, too!

The pay rate goes down a lot more if you factor in the hours of practice and lesson planning. I remember using food stamps during my days as a flight instructor and it wasn't fun. If y'all ever do a seminar like this close to Charlotte NC, count me in.

On a related subject, there are a few decent music clubs in the CLT area. Some of you East Coast Stick people might wanna consider doing a gig here (hint hint nudge nudge)
