Hmmmmmmmmm plus the cost of transportation and a hotel room?! Hmmmmmmm Gonna have to speak with the wife!!! Sounds like a once in a life time thing to me! I'll do what I can, I'd love to make it and finally get to meet some of the guys! And of course re-introduce myself to you Brett! I don't know if you recall but we met around 2 year ago when you gigged in NH.

Of course I remember you!!!!
I feel your pain about the cost. We really tried to keep it as low as we could.
I remember being in the same position in 2004 with the Charlottesville seminar. I had to ask the wife, she would be alone with the kids a few days, it was a good chunk of change, etc.
All I can say is that it was really worth it for me. It just set me on a good path. I learned enough to keep me busy for a year or more, AND there is no substitution for seeing these guys play in person and being able to ask them anything that comes to mind.
Also, Seminars are a lot of fun (you may not want to mention that to the wife though)
I hope you can make it, but whatever happens I understand completely.
Brett

Ray Take your wife along. Mine went to FredTap I, and the workshop @ Interlochen. The workshops I have attended were very valuable, to me.

I wonder if he is a "trust fund baby" that has never had to work and disparages the honest labor (for profit) of others because work is "beneath" him. Mostly he seems a court jester, whose barbs amuse a few, enrage a few, and bore the rest. Oh well, the Ducks aren't doing too well. I don't subscribe to a TV cable service, so I'm following the game on computer. I'm off to check on the fortunes of the Ducks!

The$185 doesn't bother me , it's just the airfare from Australia , it would be an awesome couple of days! Hope it goes well for everyone. B

Re: NorthEast Stick Seminar, April 30-May 1 Hamden, CT
Putting on these type of things cost money and time, I don't begrudge the admission price at all! We ALL sell our time and services in one way or another and there's nothing wrong with an honest days work for an honest days pay. I work my regular job for pay and benefits, if I didn't I'd be homeless. I gig in a band for pay and fun but I DON'T gig for free because it's a lot of effort and my equipment is expensive. (Plus the club will make money from the crowd my band draws so we deserve compensation.)
My only question is can I aford the cost of the seminar with a hotel room and transportation? The question isn't "is it worth it" because I'm sure it's well worth it! I'm going to keep this on the back burner and as we get closer to the date talk to my wife and see if I can swing it. (Also need to make sure my band isn't already booked for the date)
