Thanks for posting the "Guitarresque" clip Greg.

I was working with the dvd again today (I just finished the final playing portions on my new "Toy Masheen" cd so now I have a chance to get back to practicing some new concepts) .

I agree that having a visual reference to go back to is priceless.

Glad to hear about your new disc, Brett, and happy to have the clip up. That room is a giant reverb tank, so it's always interesting to hear how things will come across in there. I actually had to strip the reverb out of my effects programs before the concert. Thanks again for encouraging me to post the whole clip.

Nice to see so many sub-techniques in one clip, especially the true unison segment at around 5:00:

Hi Greg;

I'm getting back into the Stick after being away from it for a couple of years now. You gave me a private lesson at my home on your way through Winston Salem a while back. (Very helpful).

I'll be taking delivery on a new 10 string stick very soon and I'm thinking about buying your DVD. I'm having it setup with deep baritone melody on the melody side and the bass side up a whole step from classic tuning (D at the "X" fret on the lowest bass string).

I have a question about your DVD and please forgive me ahead of time if this is a dumb question.

I noticed in some of the example screen shots, you show fret numbers with note names on the strings to show chord positions. Since the fret numbers are shown, wouldn't this only apply to one tuning? I understand the chord shapes remain the same, but since the fret numbers are shown, wouldn't the actual notes be different depending on the tuning?

Sorry, I hope that's clear.

I'm hoping the DVD might jump start my re-entry into Stick land.

Thanks!

Glenn Fin

Hi Glenn, Since I had to make the DVD to suit 34" scale instruments, there's nothing happening at the X fret in the Classic bass 5ths tuning, and very, very little happening at fret #1 on the bass side. So you should be fine, you'll just have to do everything 2 frets lower than indicated on the bass side and 2 frets higher on the melody side.

I hope that's clear. If you have any questions, please ask.

Hi Greg;

Crystal clear. .... subtract 2 on the bass side, add 2 on the melody side.
I'll just have to ignore the position markers (inlays)

One more question... what would be the quickest way to receive the DVD? Order from your website directly? (coming from VA?)

Thanks. I really appreciate your help.

Glenn

Glenn -

If you have Amazon Prime, it's $33 with free 2-day shipping.

Thanks Brad (who lives in the city I was born in) 8-)

I'm not sure what "prime" is but I have ordered from Amazon before. Usually pretty quick.

Hello from Queens!

Amazon Prime is a subscription service they offer - free second-day shipping on most of their inventory.

Hi Glenn,

you can get it from SE with your instrument, or direct from me via PayPal. It's also available new from amazon as Brad mentioned, and also via ebay, new, from me, in case for some reason you prefer to buy it through ebay.

Here's the link to the direct order from my site:

Thanks for the interest.
