Thought some might enjoy this. It comes from the San Diego Reader, and is essentially a preview for the upcoming Stick seminar and concerts here in two weeks. Many thanks to its author Dave Good for giving us the coverage.. the Reader reaches quite a few people here!
Hey Tom - thanks for posting this. So glad to hear that you've got the enrollment you need to make these sorts of events happen. PSYCHED for the class and really looking forward to hearing you and Bob rip it up.
Out of curiosity, would I, by chance, be the contemporary that you spoke of in your article?

Re: Stick article from the San Diego Reader
Tom, What a great article! Does Dave Good have a Stick on order! He should after all that glowing praise.
It has a great conversational tone to it, and yet is really jam packed with the history of the Stick and Emmett's vision. I am going to keep the link handy for the curious who see me at gigs and are thirsting to quench their desire for knowledge about the Stick. I have these fans.
Some thoughts on the "upside down cello" are new. I don't think given the waiting time ( the waiting is the hardest part- Tom Petty) and the price, none of us are lighting our Sticks on fire. However, since our amps come from Guitar Center, if you have a unlimited replacement plan, then by all means spear your speaker cabinet like Jeff Beck did in the film Blow Up. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FEBkInSTa14
Here's one of my favorite Tom G songs with master guitarist from the CGT Bert Lams "Don't Look Back" fimed at the MOMM where the concert is going to be held.
Evergene if you live in Temecula, then I think you won the contest.
Best Wishes Tom and thanks for all your dedication to getting the word "out there", Dave Brosky

Hi Gene. I was actually thinking of someone else.. (who might become more apparent in two weeks time, but I'll leave them safely anonymous for now Are you in Temecula though? I used to play out there quite a bit.. a little less recently. Great area though!
See you soon! Tom

Hey Dave!
Thanks for the kind words and bump! I was actually really impressed with how deep Dave Good went on the article. Judging from our phone chat which was all of maybe 12 minutes.. I thought the article was going to be more of just a column feature. But he really did his homework. He was flattered when I told him Emmett enjoyed his (quote) "..certain NY or London arrogance".. ha!
Wish you could join us! Don't let Nancy tell you its too far.. so far we have signups from NY, France and possibly Mexico City
Cheers! Tom

Yes, Temecula is a fine place to live. I work up in LA, but my house and family are in Temecula. Looking forward to the class.

Bravo!
It was a excellent article which I thoroughly enjoyed...
except for an unfortunate typo, a misleading statement about it being a "sit-down guitar" and of course his description of it as an "ugly thing." Beauty is in the eye of the Stickholder.
