 Re: RailboardTM preproduction details
Im thinking this fretboard will faster. And really cool and comfortable with the backside! That backside of the instrument is the biggest seeming innovation, but im not sure how of course. Is that not the biggest feeling difference? It would seem much diffierent i would think. So it is a WAY different feel, as it seems? It looks floopin amazing!

 Re: RailboardTM preproduction details
SO, is the same part of the hand that currently stick players touch on wood still there? Like the right and left thumbs I guess...

 Re: RailboardTM preproduction details
I don't remember if I saw this somewhere mentioned in this topic, but since the frets are now integrated into the fretboard, it should be easier to make a half-fretless version, smth like that one played by Steve Adelson.

 Re: RailboardTM preproduction details
Yes, fretless bass is an easy Railboard mod. The fretless side would be .060" (about 1/16th of an inch) lower than the .060" high Rail tips on the melody side. The hard anodized flat surface should last a very long time. Other mods and models will be coming down the road. Best, Emmett.

I'd like a 10 String Grand double fretless bass in mirrored fourths, please.

 Re: RailboardTM preproduction details
It is good to see another post from Emmett in this thread. I await news of the Railboard™ eagerly, as it may be my best chance of owning a Stick of any description (let alone a 12 String Grand as I would like).
The move I'll be making in three months' time will decimate my finances, but I'll sell all I can to afford a Stick if a lower price—such as could be engendered by the expected cost reduction of Railboard™ production—makes such an action feasible.
Yes folks, I used the Unicode trademark symbol.

 Re: RailboardTM preproduction details
I'm definitely in for one, though I can't yet tell if I want it semi-fretless or with traditional fretboard I was thinking about ordering the Railboard with fretless bass side tuned in 4th to make it more "bass-lines oriented Stick", but I got familiar already with playing bass lines on Stick classic tuning bass side, and I don't find it comfortable to switch from 5th to 4th to 5th frequently (as I'm going to keep my standard Stick). On the other hand, I don't think I will be able to tap chords on the fretless bass strings, so highest bass strings in 5th would be useless in this case
