Re: Dan Chapman's Railboard Video featuring Emmett and Kevin
It's pretty amazing engineering all around. Emmett has developed a whole new way to make instruments here. I was checking out the fretwork profile that is machined into the Railboard, it's pretty amazing, makes it play like a dream. As Dan indicated, there will be a longer form video coming, with more details about the pickups, etc, so stay tuned... in the mean time please check out the website for more information: http://www.stick.com/instruments/railboard/obligatory thread page re-embedding:

This is a great little piece of advertising. It might be about the Railboard but it has Dan's chops all over it . Can't wait to play one; "There are no guitars like that" : ... jRj Rauche

This is Emmett's baby. He's been developing it for years. I'm very proud of him. I'm glad I can help get the word out.
It's a great day for Stick players.

That IS a very cool clip - makes me want to see a LOT MORE!! Pardon me for not remembering, but is there any description anywhere about the new pickup, and what is different about it (other than its "flipped" configuration)? And will it be joining the ranks in Greg's "Meet the Pickups" video?

At this point there's only a writeup about it: http://www.stick.com/instruments/railboard/r_block.htmlThe placement of the pickups, bass a little further away from the frets (a bit more edge than the PASV-4 neck), and melody a little closer (a bit mellower), is part of the difference of the sound, but the pickups, electronics and filtering are also different form the PASV-4.

Missed that one - been a while since I've thought of looking at the S.E. site. Thanks for that!
