Nice interview, getting to know the practical aspects of being a musical artist. And that last song "Trilogy" will haunt me a long time. The mercurial harmony and the fleeting melodic themes and variations are what I admire most in music. Only the most aspiring classical jazz guitarist would attempt such a composition. Multifaceted beauty emerges from the most modest of means. |

Loving this podcast. Two of my favorite people talking about music and the Chapman Stick! I really like the back story on Japh and Oceans - I would never have known these 2 musical giants to cross paths, but there it is! The outpouring of respect and shared musical admiration is always inspiring. Something we have in buckets in our corner of the musicshpere. Japhlet's approach and playing are very close to my heart, I thoroughly enjoy his music and, AND! he's the nicest most down to earth AND intelligent person you could hope to meet. As always, Hammond, good job. |

Thank you for all the kind words. Knowing that Emmett listens is kind of intimidating. I hope that I do well sharing the good work of Stick. I love talking music. I interviewed an Oscar nominated composer this past weekend. He told me that he was going to have to check out a Stick himself after I shared with him some stuff on Youtube. Later this summer I'll be reaching out to do a couple more. Thanks again for all of the support for my little show. |
