So I guess there isn't going to be a Stick Enterprises booth at NAMM? I didn't find it on the NAMM web site. I was thinking of bringing my Grand with the custom jazz pickup I made if there were any Stick players at the show that wanted to try it out. Is there any interest in that?

Stick Enterprises hasn't had a booth since 2005 I believe (the first year I went to NAMM).

Your pickup project looks/sounds cool, it certainly lends itself well to that jazz sound - I'd be lost on a Stick with the bass tuned in 5ths but I'll certainly stop by, it will be nice to see the Continuum again!

I will second that! Looking forward to my maiden voyage with the continuum and would like to see the work you did on your Grand.

I don't think we'll be streaming, but...

It looks like we'll be covering this event with 2 cameras in beautiful HD. Thanks to Gene for making this happen and a deep appreciation for Captain Strings ;) for his generous participation in putting this shoot together.

See y'all there.

StickNight NAMM 2014 was sensatiional!

Meaningful music with power to move you to tears and make you laugh.

70 ambidextrous fingers - Two drummers - Two singers. One harmonious moment in time.

7 Stickists performed in a beautiful location with food friends, city lights on a clear warm night.

Thanks to all who created this event.

Performers:
Emmett Chapman, Tom Griesgraber, Rob Martino, Gene Perry, Steve Adelson Paul Grundman and Gina Ferrera. Tim Conti and Chuck Hughes also performed a couple songs each.

I think Dan summed it up. Even better was the sheer number of Stick players in attendance, so many, Jeff from KC, Matt from Chicago, Dave from Connecticut, Joe from Hawaii, Rob from Virginia, Claire from Massachusetts, Steve from New York and the many players from California (Nacho, Emmett, Kevin Keith, Tom G. and myself). Stick Nation was in rare form! I am certain that there are some that I am forgetting. I finally got to meet Vance Gloster who was largely responsible for the StickWire and getting the Stick community online (no one quite knows how to get us inline!).

Paul and Gina were a great addition, both talented drummers and percussionists respectively. Also huge thanks to Dan Chapman and Michael Johnstone (Captain Fingers) who captured the evening in full 1080 HD. No word on how they intend to make this available as these things take time. Michael Johnstone also broke out his new lap bracket to much praise from those in attendance.

It was difficult to get all the music we wanted to play compacted into a mere 3 hours but next year will be different - and bigger! The FHA will be adding an additional night of music for players of all skills and and allow any Stick player that wants to play the opportunity to do so. Tickets for the NAMM will not be required and lender instruments in popular tunings will be available for those that are not able to travel with their Sticks.

I will have a full report on geneperry.com tomorrow along with a short video. I have posted some pics to my FB page if you are can't wait till then.
