This will be held in Hamden, Connecticut at “The Outer Space” Saturday and Sunday, April 12 and 13.

Instructors will be Greg Howard and Michael Bernier with some additional instruction by Brett Bottomley and Josh Goldberg.

All skill levels are welcome. If you don't have a Stick, a limited number of instruments will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Instruction will cover a broad range of subjects, including basic technique, instrument setup, fretboard navigation, chord chemistry, etc.

Greg is one of the most experienced teachers of Emmett Chapman's Free Hands method anywhere, having taught over 50 seminars and hundreds of private students all over North America, Europe and Japan. He's also written two Stick method books and recently published a DVD of physical technique lessons.

Michael's innovative approach to The Stick has expanded the instrument's technique vocabulary immensely, and inspired Tony Levin to launch the Stick Men trio together with Michael and drummer Pat Mastelotto. Michael has released two remarkable solo CD’s over the past few years.

Josh Goldberg has made an amazing impact of late with his video instruction and the debut CD of his band “And The Traveler”

Brett Bottomley has just released and exciting CD with his Group “Toy Masheen”

There will be a meet and greet on Friday night – venue to be announced.

Classes will be held from 10-5 on Saturday and 10-5 on Sunday at “The Outer Space” in Hamden http://theouterspace.net/. Hamden is located just north of New Haven, convenient to the New York and Boston metro areas.

There will be a Stick Night concert on Saturday night from 7 -11 at the same venue featuring Greg, Michael, Josh with “and the Traveler” and Brett with “Toy Masheen” (this will also be a CD release event for the band.

The Cost is $200 US per student and includes admission to Saturday night's concert. Space is limited, sign-ups on a first-come, first-served basis.

Dang, I really, really wish I'd known about this earlier. Now I have to try and convince my wife somehow that I need to attend two Stick seminars this year (we're already committed to Free Hands Academy).
