Post Grdl - Chord Mapping for Chapman Stick
Update: New URL below

I hacked together a small web app today that maps chords across the fretboard. Currently it's pretty limited, i.e.: 12-string Grand in Matched Reciprocal tuning, first 13 frets, 5 basic chord types. I've got things set up for SG12 in MR as well, although its not user switchable at the moment.

I put this together as an aid for my own use, but it could be expanded. Adding more chord types is pretty trivial and if it appears useful I could add more tunings and instruments.

It's called "Grdl" (griddle) and is located here:

http://www.randybrown.us/grdl/

It's only been tested in Chrome and Safari, but there's nothing extremely fancy underneath, so it shouldn't present problems in other browsers.

It's interesting. I'll have to look at it some more, but the first thing I noticed is you're not following the "X fret protocol".

What you have indicated as Fret 1 is really the X fret, Fret one would be where you have fret 2.

A coder should be familiar with counting from zero. ;)

I did a little more hacking this morning. Added in buttons for switching between Grand and SG12 in MR tuning.

now comes the most important part...

showing the inlays.

we gain a lot by referencing things to the inlays...it makes everything faster, IMO.

Inlays added. (may need to refresh browser). Doesn't yet display inlay for SG12 with guitar type inlays.

Just tried it in Firefox, seems to work just fine.
Now all I need to do is wait for the Classic Tuning version... ;)
