Post Grammy ballot info - Tom Griesgraber and Bert Lams
Hi everyone,

So.. the Grammy ballots have been mailed and I now know where exactly we landed on it. Bert Lams and I are up for nomination under:

Best Contemporary Instrumental Album - Unnamed Lands
Best Instrumental Composition - "Rebecca"
Best New Artist - Tom Griesgraber and Bert Lams
Album Of The Year - Unnamed Lands

We're also up for consideration under Best Engineering, Best Packaging and Best Liner Notes (those work a little differently, starting I believe with craft committees).

Voting members can listen now on the GrammyPro website, or feel free to contact me if you'd like to dig in deeper. Since the album is a concept album, the booklet with its stories and artwork are a connected piece of the work and are not on the site.

Everyone else.. if you'd like to help us, please share or forward this news. (Facebook is an easy place). There are I believe roughly 20,000 voting members out there and we're definitely a small pair of fish in a large ocean, sharing categories with many of the world's best. It's humbling, exciting and intimidating to say the least. My hope is that we can at least make as many folks as possible aware that we're even on the list!

Thanks as always for all your support! Many thanks also to our friends Howard Givens, Steve Hall, Jack Durieux, Laurent Durieux and Ben Moore who helped us put it all together and of course our bandmates in California Guitar Trio and Agent 22 who let us play hooky once in awhile.

Best Wishes,
- Tom Griesgraber

That's super awesome!

"Unnamed Lands" is a great album. I listen to it often.

Best of luck!

**EDIT: I sold my late parents home this past summer, which was very difficult to part with. As we drove away for the last time, I put on, "Don't Look Back". Just another example how this music will be forever etched on my soul :) **

You had to have been seriously doing a lot of foot work to get this far besides being great composers, performers, engineers and producers. Ain't easy...nearly impossible really but don't let that stop you. Go for all the way.

This music talks to me so much, so deeply in my soul. I love originals and these ones I'm listening to this morning are great. Only samples but I can feel the whole thing. Good luck.

I just realized something fun last night. Filling out the Grammy ballot is a process of looking up the numbers for who you want to vote for and then writing them onto your ballot. They have strict rules that say we can't give out or post the numbers anywhere, so I'll have to say this cryptically, but.... In what I think is our "best shot" category.. the number we were randomly assigned happens to be the year a certain "new" musical instrument was first sold.

Just a coincidence, but a fun one :)

Awesome! Good luck to you both, I love the CD.
