Greg Howard maintained a Stick directory a few years ago which was very useful to a lot of players. A shame that this website doesn't longer exist...

Stickist.com hold a "Stick Map" : http://www.stickist.com/stickmap.php
I don't know if it's up to date...

The Stick directory turned out to be a nightmare of updating, as people's websites, etc changed constantly.

If you're interested in finding out about Stick players near you, just posting here and on the various Stick groups on Facebook will connect you with a lot of people.

Thanks Greg, I tried that before posting here. I found 3 names in Montreal. And it looks like only one is really active in this Stick's beautiful world. Found him on YouTube and this stickist plays since 1999.

Good day...

Hey all

I'm looking for some close-up shots of some parts of the Stick. I'm trying to elaborate a plate focusing about the constant evolution of the Stick and may need some hi-res shots of these parts of the Stick:

- frets (rails, rods and old "T" frets)
- bridges (old and new adjustable one)
- head (different shapes from the old one to the newest model) & nut

Since I don't own some very old model, I'm especially interested to have these close-up shots of the older Stick. If someone can provide me those shots, he'll gain my eternal gratitude and obviously, he'll be credited on the plate. ;)

Resurrecting this very old discussion...

A few years ago, I worked on an exhibition, consisting of large plates with texts and pictures, which has been asked by some french cultural centers. At the time, some players here on stickist.com helped me by providing pics.

I'm now doing a new updated and more exhaustive version of the exhibition as I've been asked by a cultural center of my hometown to do a lecture/showcase on late 2019. Perfect schedule as this summer, there's no Stickcamp to organize (next year very likely) and the Free Hands has turned 50 years!

I did some extensive searches about the history of the Stick recently, dissecting websites, books (Jim Reilly's book is a gem) and methods to gather all the information the audience could asked for . The plates will be done by a friend of mine, who made the posters of the Allaire tapping festival and Folies Tapping a few yeas ago.

For this new version, I want to make a plate describing the Stick in its actual shape. All around the main picture, there will be some explanations about all the equipments the Stick is made of : truss-rod, bridge, nut, frets, material... For each piece of equipment, I would like to insert some smaller pictures of those previous equipments used by Emmett Chapman, so we can see the continuous evolution of the Stick for 50 years. So, I'm looking for some closer pictures of those equipments, especially the oldest ones.

Here is the list of the pics I may need :

Nut : first version with the plate, second version with the screws, third version with the Flaps
Headstock : first version with the angular tip of the headstock (viewable on the very old sticks)
Metal nameplate : old trapezoidal shape
Bridge : non adjustable bridge (the one with only screws into the wood)
Damper : the ones made of velvet than fur
Belt hook : the first ones, in wood, then in metal
Frets : I need pics of the older ones : guitar type frets, then Jumbo, then Rods. For those pics, I would like to have some pics taken from the side, to see the actual shape of the fret

If you have some good quality pics of your Stick as well, and some close-up shots showing a interesting/beautiful view of the grain of the material/wood, I may be interested as well!

Feel free to send me your pics at bruno.joel.ricard@gmail.com and ask me for some info you may need.

Thanks for your help!
