Post Chris Squire
Friends, I am hearing via Dean and Eliot that Chris Squire has passed away. I can't even put into words the sadness that I feel, but happy to know he is at rest.

Sorry to hear the news, Gene.

I always think of this song when I think of his great playing and distinctive sound:

but there really are so many....

I can't tell you how many times I came home fro school, put on my headphones and just got lost in Close to the Edge and Tales from Topographic Oceans. What epic records...

This hurts sooooooooooooo bad!!!!!!!!!!! I absolutely adored his playing. He was my first major influence to pick up a bass guitar. I have tears running down my face as I type this. His playing with YES took me away from a really less than perfect childhood. That whole opening of Close to the Edge, the counterpoint still blows my mind. So inventive and distinctive. What a MAJOR loss to music. First Jack Bruce, now Chris. This is going to sting for awhile.

This is just terrible news. So sad. I was just listening to his album, Fish Out of Water, the other day and was concerned about his fight with leukemia.

My thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, fans, and all the members of Yes.

Sad to me in a very personal way. These two clips are dear to me, and I thought they were most appropriate.

Very sad passing of a great legend. I saw Yes with Chris Squire right after Wakeman left and Patrick Moraz ( who always shows up.... Moody Blues...) was there. A good friend of mine and prog enthusiast,David Aquino, on who I played Stick on his album, sent me this funny and personal video of Chris and his meeting with Hendrix.

enjoy and may he always be remembered for his sound and creativity,
