Post subject:  Issues with iOS site access

For the last couple of months I’ve been having trouble accessing the forum via Firefox on iOS devices (iPhone & iPad.)

  • The site forces me to log in on every visit. The “Log me in automatically” seems to be ignored
  • The site “remembers” me as my email address, not my username, and the login fails if I don’t correct it.
  • Frequently, after successfully logging in, I’m redirected back to the login screen as soon as I try to navigate to any posts. I’ll sometimes have to do this two or three times before the login “takes,” and sometimes I’m just forced to give up and wait until I can get to my desktop computer.
  • This is happening on both mobile devices

Happy to experiment if anyone has an idea if this can be fixed on my end.

Haven't changed anything on the site; perhaps an update to your iOS apps changed something.

Have you tried other other browsers on your devices?
Or clearing your Browser's cache, cookies, history, Certificates and relogging?

For me, I moved away from Firefox and have been using Brave, a 'non-tracking' version of Chrome.

Thanks, Manny. Seemed strange that I was encountering this on both devices, but since there doesn’t seem to be any reason for this on your end, I’ll give all that a try.

From rusty memory, I seem to recall that all browsers on iOS are forced to work through Apple's base web framework: they're all only wrappers around the same rendering engine. (Read: changing from Firefox to Brave to Edge to Safari on iOS really isn't changing much as far as how the pages look.)

Could be wrong about this now, however.
