Post Orchestral Suite by Larry Tuttle
This is very cool. Stick player Larry Tuttle is a fine composer. Here is a performance of an orchestral suite he wrote from May of 2015. You can see him playing bass in the orchestra. (The kind you play mostly with a bow while wearing a tux.)

Cool!

I should point out that Larry is an Interlochen alum.

That's awesome. What kind of alum? There are so many programs there and also the HS.

Interlochen Arts Camp 1971. Principal bassist in the high school orchestra.

He won a composition award from the Pittsburgh Symphony in 2014 and there was a nice mention of it in Interlochen's alumni newsletter.

Wow Larry, what a fine accomplishment. If Copland had been alive he'd have wished he'd written that, or at least gotten a crack at conducting it.

I've often thought, when hearing premieres of pieces, that I could do better, but not this time. It's impeccable.

I've done the orchestral thing as a percussionist, and have also arranged for orchestra, so I can tell what great piece that is. Not as well you, but well enough to appreciate your talent.

Time for a Stick concerto!
