What an amazing player! The video comments say that he was hard for engineers to record his playing in the studio over the sound of his singing. The sheer fluidity at which he does those runs! And I so love Bach--I get this guy and his obvious love of the song. Good Stuff! thanks, Rodrigo.

Thanks Stephen. Gould was such an amazing player from a young age that, at 22, he completely rewrote the way we hear the "father of western music". Leaving all the 19th century romanticism behind, refusing to use legatos and sustain pedal, he's, IMHO, the musician that played Bach in the clearest way: if every note was written for a reason, than every note is played, heard and understood for a reason. If anything, the feeling is al there, but it's a lot clearer - just like a groovy bass player that doesn't play too many notes ;) cheers Rodrigo

Gould rules. He is the bar by which we measure how we hear, play and perform Bach.
