so much to say about a true great. i was singing "Let's Dance" on Sunday, didn't know he had passed, my roomate said something about when it came out and where we were at that moment in our lives...so many of those "moments". like Miles, every time he put something out it was like changing the course of music...one more thing. i picked up "Black Tie White Noise" in a used bookstore last year for a dollar. never having heard it or of it figuring "Well, it's Bowie, how bad can it be?" it immediately became mine and my girlfriends favorite record to...(you know). then i checked out the reviews of it...generally panned. (what do critics know). his voice just kept getting better as far as im concerned. yeah, i was anticipating "The Next Tour". maybe he's trading four's with Dolphy... |
