Many moving classical pieces in my collection, but I keep coming back to this one. Ravel - Concerto in G, 2nd movement: Adagio assai 10:25min The album is Charles Munch, his last recordings, Orchestre de Paris Nicole Henriot-Schweitzer (piano) http://www.discogs.com/Charles-Munch-Ravel-Honegger-Orchestre-De-Paris-His-Last-Recordings/release/4628035 Incidentally, the director, Alejandro Gonsalez Inarritu used this piece by Ravel in his film, "BIUTIFUL" as the song for his end credits. Which can be heard here, but it's not the Munch recording that I love so much. Couldn't find that online. Here's the version in the movie, not nearly as good as Munch's version. Bach's Brandenburg Concertos are my all time favorites. |
