European rock and subgenres
...starting with the Italians, naturally. Since we have already covered some of the older guys, let's start with comparatively new blood. Here is the mightly Deus ex Machina, featuring Alberto Piras, one of the greatest vocalists in rock music, EVER. Incredible range, impeccable pitch and technique, backed by an insane band. Years ago, they gifted a cooler full of beer to us at Orion Studios in Baltimore as we played there two days later. Before we knew it existed, it was partially consumed by a french band called Nebelnest. Good band, heckled relentlessly by my guitarist, who did not suffer the act gracefully.
Anyway, enjoy this. Piras alternates between the Italian language and Latin. The guy is insane, I tell you:

Re: European rock and subgenres
K Rex, speaking of the Italians, remember the great prog rock band P.F.M. from Italy in the 70's? They always reminded me of a cross between Yes, ELP and King Crimson...
