Yes! If anything good can come out of Prince's early death, that vast treasure trove of funky awesomeness will finally be seen and heard by mortal humans! Enough to release a full album a year for the next 100 years and more!

Quote:
Bremer Trust, the St. Cloud, Minnesota, company given temporary authority over Prince's estate, opened the vault to which only Prince had the code, KSTP-TV added.

Previously, Prince spoke openly about his treasure trove of music on "The View."

"One day, someone will release them. I don't know that I'll get to release them," he said back in 2012. "There's just so many."

The seven-time Grammy Award winner reportedly left behind a vault containing so much music his estate could put out an album a year for the next century.

"We could put out more work in a month than most people could do in a year or more," Susan Rogers, Prince's former recording engineer, told ABC's "Good Morning America."

Rogers added that the vault in Prince's Paisley Park home was a giant room with shelves that filled up quickly. The door to the vault was sealed with a large spinning wheel.

Adds: the vault they show in that video is HUGE! And the shelves are all full. That's bigger than my house, easily. They have Mozart studies, and Bach studies. I think there'll be more than enough to fuel a few schools of Prince studies!

Johannes! O.M.F'n G!!!! What the hell was that? That was almost a transcendent experience of awesomeness. I'm a huge Prince fan (you may have noticed) but that was truly spectacular live!

"Can I play my guitar?"

Yes, you funky mf'er, kill it man!

And then 4:30 that OTHER solo. Damn. Sprinkle liberally with F bombs. The dancing rhythm section.

[Prince blows on his guitar to cool it down. 5:33.] Squee!

Bass groove at 7:00. Horns and then organ come in.

8:30. Rhythm guitar takes a ride. Clapping along. Prince out! Like a motherless child.

[Steve wipes off half the sweat Prince is wiping off.] Comments and hits play again! Saturday productivity GONE! Doesn't care.]

Thanks, Johannes! Lots more to come in the years to come!

Although I had huge respect of him I've never been much of a Prince fan, but when I see this I think maybe I should have been.

finally got around to watching this - man!

Very cool - what a tight band and awesome version of this song. I have always loved Lenny Kravitz so the two of them together just works on like 1000 levels.

very cool video - actually made me go and buy a couple of Kravitz albums...I owned them years ago, pre-digital music age, and lost them.

Virtuoso redefined, how about a 5-minute live bass guitar solo?

"Y'all ain't ready for me. I said, 'y'all ain't ready for me!'"
